Chesapeake City is the subject of this richly illustrated 66 page booklet which describes how the village along the C
& D Canal grew and what makes it different today. The booklet traces the growth of the town from the early 1800, highlights some of the businesses which have come and gone,and provides a glimpse of how this delightful village turned the restoration corner. Photographs have been interspersed to highlist the text. Included is a self-guided walking tour of the south side historical district. Each building on the tour is keyed to a small sketch for easy identification. Descriptions include the approximate date of construction, information about early owners and architectural details.
